Thunderbird Successfully Drills 5 and 6 Kansas Wells

 Vancouver, British Columbia, February 7, 2007---Thunderbird Energy Corp. (TSX-V: TBD "Thunderbird") announced today that it has successfully completed drilling the 5th and 6th wells of the current 6 well Rush County, Kansas light oil project. It is anticipated that both wells will be completed and equipped for production later this month.

Thunderbird holds a 50% interest in the initial 6 wells, 2 of which (the #1 and #2 Tammen) have commenced production and 2 of which have been abandoned.

"We are off to a very good start in Kansas," stated Cameron White, President of Thunderbird Energy Corp. "Based on the success of the initial 6 well program, we are currently reviewing the technical data in preparation for future drilling activity in the area."

Thunderbird Energy is a Canadian based oil and gas company that, in addition to the Kansas project, owns a 50% interest in the Gordon Creek producing natural gas field in the State of Utah, USA. Thunderbird's other holdings include a New Brunswick oil and gas exploration project adjacent to the Stoney Creek field.
